What is TyreSafe?

TyreSafe is the new name for the Tyre Industry Council, a not for profit non commercial organisation set up 16 years ago with the responsibility of raising the awareness of the importance of the dangers of defective and worn tyres.

Pirelli is delighted to be a supporting member of TyreSafe, and looks forward to taking an active role within TyreSafe as it seeks to educate and inform on tyre safety issues.  Pirelli's Managing Director, Dominic Sandivasci, said "We at Pirelli recognise the responsibility of our industry to help communicate tyre safety messages and we see TyreSafe as an excellent medium to bring attention to these vitally important matters."

The organisation and its activities have been credited with reducing the number of defective tyres in the UK over the past 16 years from 20% to 12% today. The new TyreSafe will continue to campaign to underline the dangers of driving with defective or badly worn tyres and will provide information to government about these dangers to help influence any change in the tyre law.
